EVENT SECURITY OFFICER

FLSA STATUS: This is an hourly, on call non-exempt position

TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE (DAYS/HRS PER WEEK): Varies by Location/TBD

JOB PURPOSE: Provide a safe and secure environment for guests/vendors as well as safeguarding assets by patrolling designated areas within contractual properties. Protecting the integrity of organizer’s reputation and operations site specific, and might involve other duties not listed in this description.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Conduct security patrols of designated buildings and parking lots to identify safety concerns, suspicious and/or signs of criminal activity.
• Operate Security communication equipment in accordance with FCC regulations, and in consistent with departmental numeric codes.
• Maintain strict control of event access, accountability and distribution of keys, and equipment
• Report all activity via hand-held radio and or verbally to on site supervisors.
• Prepare incident/accident reports as required in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Provide Law Enforcement Officials with full cooperation as requested when responding to incidents within assigned areas.
• Exhibit continuous high presence and visibility to serve as a deterrent of illegal activity.
• Concentrate on ensuring the guests enjoyment and the smooth running of assigned event
• Other duties assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

• Ability to learn and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures; federal and state statutes, and tribal ordinances as related to security work.
• Ability to learn the layout and geography of the Pueblo of Pojoaque; and serve as a resource for disaster and other emergencies.
• Ability to use a computer to complete required documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing as duties demand.
• Ability to analyze situations and take quick, effective, and reasonable courses of action with regard to surrounding hazards and circumstances.
• Ability to effectively operate vehicles, and specialized security equipment.
• Ability to professionally address customer concerns and disputes.
• Ability to deliver interpersonal communication skills with Team Members, Guests and others and necessary.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Demonstrate stable work history
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no DWI’s in the last five years, and no more than two major offenses
• Prior experience in a security field, law enforcement, and/or military is preferred but no required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• On 24-hour emergency call; Weekends, Holidays as needed.
• Walking, 60%; Patrolling, 20% Sitting, 20%
• Must be in good physical condition
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors, sometimes during inclement weather conditions.
• May be subject to verbal and physical abuse, cuts, bruises, scrapes, burns, broken bones, insect and/or animal bites, germs, bacteria, viruses, environmental allergens, gases and fumes, cigarette smoke, and noise.
• May require physical exertion under vigorous and unusual conditions
• May be exposed to pain, suffering, and mental anguish under emergency conditions

SECURITY SUPERVISOR

JOB LOCATION: Pueblo of Pojoaque Properties, Kick’s 66 Convenience Store, Cities of Gold Hotel. Contract Locations

REPORTS TO: Security Manager/ Private Patrol Operator

DEPARTMENT: Security

FLSA STATUS: This is a full-time/part- time, hourly non–exempt Position

TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE (DAYS/HRS PER WEEK): Varies by location/TBD

JOB PURPOSE: To assist the Security Manager in carrying out his/her responsibilities in the area of security by providing a safe and secure environment for employees and customers, and for safeguarding assets and property for Pueblo of Pojoaque businesses and properties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Directly supervises Security Officers
• Patrols designated Pueblo of Pojoaque Properties
• Approves leave requests, coordinates interviewing and recommends hiring of new Officers
• Oversees review and approval of internal time sheets, scheduling of work, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and training of new Officers
• Acts as Security Manager in his/her absence
• Oversees day-to-day operation of the shift as follows: ensure Security Officers are performing their duties in accordance with company requirements, and reporting unusual or emergency incident to the Security Supervisor and Manager
• Collect and review all daily operation documentation for Security Officers, and file them within designated location

• Inspect and Maintain control of departmental Security equipment (radios, gear, uniforms etc.)
to insure they are being properly used and worn in accordance with company requirements
• Respond and assist with resolving emergency and non-emergency calls from Security Officers.
• Follow and enforce established procedures for bomb threats, fires, evacuations, armed
robberies, and other related emergencies
• Serve as the Liaison between Security and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
• Recommend candidates for employment status changes, conduct performance evaluations
and salary reviews for assigned staff, and enforce application of organizational policies,
procedures, post orders and other company processes
• Estimate personnel needs and make necessary adjustments to meet required expectations
and completion dates, which may be in accordance with schedules fixed by higher supervision,
and subject to higher approval.
• Responsible for monitoring budget expenditures and strategic goals consistent with the
mission
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Good computer skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of company rules and regulations
• Comprehensive knowledge of the property layout and the geography of the Pueblo of
Pojoaque; and resources available for normal operations, disasters and other emergencies.
• Ability to effectively Supervise, coordinate, delegate, provide leadership qualities and review
all work assigned to staff under your supervision.
• Thorough knowledge of the Pojoaque Employee Handbook, principles of supervision, security
administration, and training techniques;
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and effectively review and edit
incident reports documentation completed by security officers.
• Ability to analyze situations and take quick, effective, and reasonable courses of action with
due regard to surrounding hazards and circumstances.
• Ability to operate vehicles, and utilize specialized security equipment
• Ability to monitor and schedule vehicle maintenance as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year successful supervisory/management related experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in solving practical problems in a variety of situations where
standardization of concrete variables exists such as policies, procedures, regulations, and
processes
• Must pass background investigation and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing process
• Ability to wear the required uniform unless otherwise authorized by the Security Manager
under special circumstances
• Must have valid driver’s license with no DUI’s in the last five years, and no more than two
major offenses
• First Aid/CPR, AED and blood borne pathogen Certification In house training may be provided
• Good Computer Skills
• Good Report Writing Skills
